Ray proved he could still pull out all the stops at the super concert for the opening of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. He came on stage wearing a sports coat that was the British flag. He looked out at the audience and stated "I must be in America". He then reverses the coat and it became the American flag. The whole stadium became one, in unison to cheer him on. No other band for the whole event was able to bring everyone emotionally together as one again. They definitely stole the show because every act that followed was anti climactic.
